2024 Request for Zero Period
There are a few options or reasons to take a zero period:
- The student/family would like to shift the students class schedule to get out of school earlier. Students can start their day and end their day earlier if they choose. Keep in mind that all students in grades 9-11 must have 6 classes on campus and students in grade 12 must have 5 classes on campus.
- Students would like to create an open period 5th period. Often, students who are in athletics might request this so that they miss less class 5th period and have additional time to change or get ready for their after-school athletic commitments.
- The student is in a program that necessitates, and qualifies for, a 7-period day.
Keep in mind, this is not an offering of an “extra class,” but rather an opportunity to shift your class schedule to earlier in the day or create an opening before a sport/activity.
